Virtual Assistant Information...

What Is A Virtual Assistant?

  • A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a highly skilled administrative professional with years of experience and a mixture of skills and talents.  Because VA’s are an independent contractor, you’ll receive the benefits of an assistant, without the expense of an employee.

  • A VA is just like an executive assistant, secretary or personal assistant…with the exception that they handle your affairs from a distance “virtually” through internet, email, fax, phone or mail.  A VA can be a permanent or temporary staffing solution that works from a remote location.  Another way to view it is…They provide support, across the board (not with just one specific function or task), in long-term and collaborative relationships (no matter how short or ongoing that may be) without being geographically present in the client’s location.  Therefore a VA can fit your staffing or business needs…whenever…and only…when you need them.

  • There are a variety of services that a VA can offer their client.  What makes a VA isn’t that the services they provide are at a distance from their clients, nor the fact that they obtained their skills and knowledge from working in the corporate field.  What makes a VA is that the services they provide are a wide range of administrative services and the fact that they provide multiple functions or tasks for their clients; not just one.  Here are just a few examples of services that can be combined for your VA to perform:

    Administrative Assistant
    Bookkeeper
    Event Planning
    Executive Assistant
    Marketing Assistant
    Personal Assistant
    Receptionist Assistant
    Technology Assistant
    Travel Planning

  • While the VA industry has been in existence since the 1980’s; it has only recently became more mainstream.  VA’s are considered the “secretarial pool” of this century.  The knowledge of how a VA can help your business has risen due to their national exposure in TIM, The Today Show, USA Today and BusinessWeek.

What Company, Business or Individual Can Benefit From Using A VA?

  • One who desires a better quality of service than what a temp agency can provide.

  • One who desires a professional “partner” that has a vested interest in the business being a success.

  • One who desires to spend more time with their family, or enjoy more of life.

  • One who desires to focus on growing their business.

  • One who desires to focus on finding new ways to grow their business, but can’t find the time.

  • One who is drowning in paper work and all of the small, time-consuming details of building a business.

What Are The Benefits of Using A VA?

  • It saves you money.  You don’t have the expense of a full-time employee; payroll, insurance, taxes, holiday pay, vacation and sick time or leave of absence, additional office space or equipment costs.

  • It gives you freedom.  You can concentrate on your business and delegate the mundane tasks.

  • You can pursue other activities with family or friends.  You can take continuing education or business building classes.  You can even take the time to join networking groups to further your contacts.

  • There is no business duty that a VA cannot perform or be willing to learn.  If they need to learn a program or software in order to be of service to you; it is done on their time and with their funds…not yours.

  • A VA tailors their services to fit your needs.  One time jobs, small or large projects, monthly basis jobs or seasonal projects.

  • VA’s are always accessible by phone, fax or email; no matter where YOU are.

  • VA’s have been in the corporate world and are like-minded professionals.  You are partnering with a like-minded business professional that succeeds when you succeed.

  • VA’s provide a wide range of services, but realize each particular business or individuals needs are unique.

  • Why waste time on mundane, time-consuming tasks that you just don’t like to do?  They shouldn’t be your primary objective!

  • You only pay for the materials & the time you need assistance, whether it’s one time, monthly or seasonally.
